Staff College Drag Hunt Meet Card 2020/2021
The Staff College Drag Hunt is very fortunate to enjoy the support of a large number of land owners, farmers and the military who allow us to drag hunt across their land. Out of consideration to our landowners some meets may have to change at short notice depending upon ground conditions, grazing requirements of stock, planting of crops and the requirements of the military. We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible but please keep an eye on the meet card for any changes.
All meets at 12:30pm unless specified otherwise.
Please be on your horse by 12:20pm so you are ready!
All riders MUST book in with the Hunt Secretary Jess NO LATER than 4pm on the Friday preceding a Sunday meet and 4pm on the Monday preceding a Wednesday meet.
All bookings must be accompanied by bank transfer payment.
Riders will be sent bank details when they book in. Payment must also be received by the 4pm deadline.
If you are planning to come Draghunting with us this season, you must fill out and sign a Disclaimer. This applies for every new season you Drag Hunt with us, even if you have been out with us before.
Please download, fill in and then email a scanned copy of it to the Secretary. Many thanks!
Please have a look at the etiquette reminders which are there to keep you safe, whilst upholding the traditions of the hunt.
Please also read the Covid-19 Secure Guidelines which all attendees must adhere to.
Message from the Masters:
Dear Subscribers and followers of the Staff College Drag Hunt,
Once again, we would all like to thank you for your support of the Staff College Drag Hunt over the summer and for the first part of this season.
However, it is with much regret that from Thursday 5th November all hunting activities will cease for the time being.
We have received guidance from The Hunting Office, our governing body, that there is no way for hunting to continue and to remain within the law under the provisions laid out by the government for the forthcoming lockdown.
We are sure that you will find this just as disappointing as the Masters do, given that we have got off to such a wonderful start this year, and the hounds have been going so well.
The Prime Minister has said that the current restrictions may begin to be lifted from December 2nd, providing infection rates drop. As we receive any updates for when we can resume hunting, we will let you all know.
In the meantime, we wish you all well and we look forward to seeing you all out on the hunting field just as soon as we can.
