Guided Beach Ride

 

Date: Saturday 15th May 2021

Location: West Beach Car Park, Hayling Island. What3words reference: normal.video.darker

Time: Please arrive in enough time to be mounted and ready to ride at 7:00pm so we can make best use of the tide times.

About: Group guided ride along the beach at Hayling Island on your own horse. There will be walk, trot and the opportunity for cantering on the sand. Ellie Osborne Photography will be there to capture all the magic!

Cost: £40 for adults, £30 for young people aged 16 years or under. Cost includes a snack box and Prosecco to enjoy after your ride. Any photos you wish to have from the day will available from Ellie at extra cost. Please note there are parking charges on Hayling Island.

Covid precautions: Please adhere to current government guidelines including observing social distancing.

Guided Rides

 

Dates: Sunday 9th May & Sunday 20th June 2021

Location: The Ridgeway Car Park, Bury Lane, Wantage, OX12 8QX. This is a public car park. Please park sensibly.

Times: There will be 2 rides each day - the first leaving at 10am and the second leaving at 1pm

About: Groups of 5 riders (on your own horses) plus a guide.  The ride covers 10 miles across the beautiful countryside of the Ridgeway. There will be walk, trot and the opportunity for lots of canters.

Cost: £30 for adults, £20 for young people aged 16 years or under. Cost includes a snack box and Prosecco to enjoy after your ride.

Covid precautions: Groups will be limited to 5 riders plus a guide. Please observe social distancing.

Guided Ride

Location: Stockbridge Pond, Tilford, Surrey, GU10 2DD. To find the parking entrance follow what3words: soonest.stags.calendar. Parking space is limited, please share transport where possible.

Times: The ride leaves at 10am. Please be mounted and ready to leave at 10am.

About: Group of 20 riders (on your own horses) plus a guide. The ride covers 10/12 miles across Thursley and Frensham Commons. There will be walk, trot and the opportunity for lots of canters and a visit to the beautiful Pierrepont River where we will take photographs.

Cost: £30 for adults, £20 for young people aged 16 years or under. Cost includes a snack box and Prosecco to enjoy after your ride.

Drag Hunt Camp
 

Dates: 5pm Tuesday 15th June til 5pm Thursday 17th June 2021

Location: Bucklebury Equestrian, New Barn Farm, Bucklebury RG7 6EF

 

Itinerary:

Tuesday 15th:

You will be welcomed with bubbles and a BBQ on the first night with plenty of time to settle your horse in.

Wednesday 16th:

The morning session will be in the arena working on position, balance and cross country riding technique.

Over lunch, Mandy will give a talk on hunting etiquette and we will have a Q&A session.

In the afternoon, we will have a group cross country session putting everything you have learned into practice and then finishing off team-chase style pitting ourselves against one another!

Before dinner Mandy will get us ready for the next days Working Hunter Masterclass by giving us all the tips and tricks on turn out – trimming, plaiting etc.

Dinner will be a fish and chip supper with a cocktail and some hunting ghost stories!

 

Thursday 17th:

Mandy will provide a Working Hunter Master Class giving you all the knowledge you need to compete successfully in a Working Hunter show class. We will finish the session with out own mini Working Hunter Class with prizes for the winners!

Over lunch we will have another talk on hunting first aid for horses and people.

In the afternoon we will head out on an interval training hack / pub ride getting back in time for our departure at 5pm.

 

Food and drink: All food (2 x breakfast, 2 x lunch, 2 x dinner and snacks) and some drink (welcome bubbles, cocktail and port!) included plus a few surprises!

 

Rider or non rider? We have 15 spaces for horses and riders (stables and turn out pens) - plus further spaces for non-mounted attendees who can watch the ridden classes, join in with the talks and enjoy the food and drinks.

Cost: £250 for horses and riders, £120 for non-mounted participants.

Staff College Drag Hunt Summer Show

 

Date: Sunday 8th August 2021

Location: Blackcroft Farm, Church Road, Farley Hill RG7 1UP

 

About: Ridden and in hand classes including working hunter, side saddle classes, fun & novelty classes, clear round & handy pony.

Hunt Scurry & Inter-Hunt Relay

 

Date: Sunday 12th September 2021

Location: Loddon Court Farm, Beech Hill Road, Reading, RG7 1HT

Hunt Scurry:  The Scurry will be run over approximately 2.5 miles with a mixture of approx 20 fences. Entries limited to 15 riders per class. All riders complete the course at the same time with the first over the finish line declared the winner!

Inter-Hunt Relay: Teams will compete in drawn order, two teams at a time, and jump separate identical courses in a knockout competition. The team that completes the course in the fastest time will go through to the next round. The course will consist of of hunting-style fences, plus knock-down fences approximately 90cm in height. Teams can be made up from member of Hunts, Pony Clubs or Riding Riding Clubs. Any prize money won will be paid to the Hunt / Pony or Riding Club the team represents.  Teams made up from other riders may enter, but must nominate a charity to represent. Any prize money won will be paid to the nominated charity.

How to enter: Online entries in advance only. No entries on the day. Entries close when classes are full or at 8pm on 2nd September 2021.
