AGM

Date: TBC - watch this space!

Time: 6:30pm

Location: Robertson House (Former Army Staff College), RMA Sandhurst, Camberley. Entry is via the Staff College Gate (GU15 4NP for satnavs). On arriving at Staff College Gate, use left hand lane ("Non Pass Holders") to park in front of the barrier. Leave the vehicle and enter the small Guardroom. YOU WILL NEED PHOTO ID (Drivers License or Passport are best). You must book in with the Hunt Sec if you plan to attend (see below for how to do this).

Booking in: To be allowed access to the Academy, you must book in by emailing Jess the Hunt Sec secretary@staffcollegedraghunt.co.uk providing the names of the people attending and your car registration. Names will be submitted on Tuesday 9th June, so please book in before this date.

Puppy Show

Date: Sunday 12th July 2020

Time: TBC

About: Come and join us at the Staff College Drag Hunt Puppy Show this summer! There will be a traditional Puppy Show with afternoon tea.

Location: The Kennels, RMA Sandhurst, Camberley. Entry is via the Staff College Gate (GU15 4NP for satnavs). Hound Racing and BBQ

Location: Rotherwick

About: Come and join us for a fun packed afternoon of hound racing followed by a BBQ.

Guided Ride

Date: TBC - probably in September - watch this space!

About: Everyone welcome to join us for a guided group ride followed by brunch. The ride will be around 1 1/2 - 2 hours long with walk, trot, canter and a selection of optional rustic jumps on headlands and turf.

Location: Loddon Court Farm, Beech Hill Road, Reading RG7 1HT

Time: The ride starts at 10am. Please arrive in enough time to have a glass of fizz with us before we set off!

Cost: £30 for adults, £20 for children aged 15 years and under, £20 for subscribers (includes fizz before setting off and brunch afterwards).

Dress code: Ratcatcher - tweed jacket, shirt with coloured stock or tie, light coloured breeches (NOT white), brown boots (black OK if you don't have brown). No need to plait your horse but must be neat and tidy. (Jackets optional if it's very warm weather).

Side Saddle Clinic

Dates: Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th September 2020

About: Two fun filled days suitable for beginners and experienced riders!

Saturday: Private lesson on Sparholt College's mechanical horse - the perfect way to introduce yourself to the art of riding side saddle if you are a beginner, or more challenging exercises can be practiced (including jumping) for the experienced rider. Slots available from 10am-4pm.

Sunday: For beginners, it will be a Side Saddle Have-A-Go day. Side saddle fitting, lesson and lunch! You'll also have the opportunity to dress up in a habit and have your photo taken as a record of your day. For the more experienced rider, we can tailor the session to suit you, for example focusing on riding side saddle in the hunting field including how to jump safely.

Sunday: Harroway House Stables, Penton Mewsey, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 0RA

Instructors: Lucinda Sims, Pippa Booth & Jinks Bryer

Cost: Both days £100 per person. Sunday only £55 per person - includes side saddle, habit, instruction & lunch. Bring your own horse.

Hedge Jumping Clinic

Dates: Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th September 2020

 

About: This clinic is designed to help you understand, identify and reduce the risk in cross-country jumping and to develop your balance and improve your confidence when jumping and galloping. The theory of safety in cross-country will be explained and demonstrated.

Saturday: Private lesson on Sparholt College's mechanical horse - the perfect way to build confidence and skills over a simulated cross country course. Slots available from 10am-4pm.

Sunday: Putting your skills into practice over some real live hedges! There will be a cross country theory session (mounted) concentrating on balance development - each horse and rider will be assessed over small fences to see where improvements can be made for the benefit of both.  They will also be asked to jump cross country obstacles with gymnastic exercises being added.  Then follows a lesson developing balance, improving confidence and establishing rhythm where riders will jump fences that they will meet out hunting. *Full details for timings and location of this day to follow*
